Steve Ramsden is an award-winning British writer-director and cinematographer. Raised in Newcastle, he has directed across the Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Hong Kong, Myanmar, Uganda and the USA, and in 2016 founded Unexplored Films, producing short films, commercials and documentaries.
His thriller Pay Back (2023), starring Craig Conway and shot with a crew of four, won Best Thriller at Venice Shorts and Best Thriller Short, with a Special Jury Award of Excellence, at LA Indie Short Fest. Road Kill, starring Guy Henry, screened at LIFF, LSFF and internationally. Directing, shooting, editing and handling his own VFX, Steve delivers polished genre films on lean budgets, and has built an audience of over 340,000 subscribers for his DIY filmmaking channel.
Synopsis
Desperate for money to avoid eviction, a young woman accepts a quick cash job delivering an anonymous parcel. After an easy first payday, a second job promises enough money to escape her short-term financial troubles. But when she discovers who the next parcel is for, a straightforward transaction becomes an impossible choice.
